It’s the end of 2018. Time to reflect on my year to see what worked and what did not.  This year I launched my podcast and blog.  What a whirlwind of effort, enthusiasm and every emotion you can name.

To recap, I’ve chosen my Top 10 Words to describe my year of advocating.

  1. Advocacy
  2. Connections
  3. Homework
  4. Listen
  5. Auto-pilot
  6. Courage
  7. Stories
  8. Share
  9. Kindness
  10. Trust

My advocacy work in 2018 offered me opportunities to reach out and make new connections (and to strengthen old ones).

Fortunately, I understood the importance of doing my homework

I researched key topics that mentors and trailblazers discussed and modeled. I watched YouTube presentations and read books.

Ultimately, listening was key. Really listening. Listening and taking notes.

Crucial stance: adjusting my daily behavior to shut down “auto-pilot.”

Opened to new lessons, new skills, new perspectives, new ideas. (no more auto-pilot!)

I’m mindful to be open and aware. Expanding, not contracting, is the key to self-growth.

Then with focused intention, I found the courage to write my stories. Through sharing my stories, I advocated for kindness.

2018 was an excellent year for kindness to take the main stage worldwide. I am honored to be a part of such an incredible community of advocates. They inspire me daily. Our causes may vary, yet the love is universal.

Finally, trust. The underlying trust, from day to day, that I could do hard work and create compelling content…THAT was transformative in 2018. Having trust in myself to do hard things – I gave myself permission to follow my heart because I trusted that what I am doing matters.

What are your Top 10 Words for 2018? Give that some thought. You may be pleasantly surprised!

All the Best!
